The 3-Day! November 22, 2009

Filed under: 2s4y, 3-Day, Copics, Primsa Pencils, Special Day, Thank You, dt call — Meg @ 12:26 pm

The Arizona edition of the Breast Cancer 3-Day was last weekend.  It was fun and interesting to see the walk from a non-walking perspective this year.  I had a great time cheering at all the stations!  My BFF walked again this year, so I had to make sure she got some fun mail at camp.

Thank You Cat

Simple Holiday November 1, 2009

Filed under: Christmas, HA weekly challenge, NOT Copics, Primsa Pencils, Shorties — Meg @ 8:11 pm

Thanks to my recent HA gift card, I have a boatload of new and cute Christmas stamps!  This week’s HA challenge just so happens to be simple holiday – a perfect time to bust out the newbies.

I actually got on a bit of a roll and ended up with 5 cards!

This first group I used some Making Memories charms that I’ve had sitting around for.ever.  Was never sure what to do with them, but now, voila:

Holiday Shorties Trio

Simple Trio

{American Crafts and My Minds Eye pps, HA Holiday Sayings, Making Memories charms, assorted gemstones}

Simple Snowman

Season's Snowman

I stamped the snowflakes on the snowman’s body with Versamark Dazzle Frost and then clear embossed for some subtle sheen and dimension.

{Bazzill Dotted Swiss – scarf, HA Build Your Own, HA Create Your Own, HA Holiday Sayings, CB swiss dots}

Now, what’s a group of holiday cards without an animal?  Incomplete!

Celebration Kitty

Celebrate Kitty

Incomplete no longer!

{American Crafts pp, HA Design Your Own, K & Co. gem}

I’m really diggin’ the Create Your Own and Design Your Own sets.  If it weren’t for the GC I probably never would have even gotten one, let alone both.

I ended up getting a huge deal on some holiday paper today – lot’s more Christmas card fun to come!

Silhoutte Flowers October 25, 2009

Filed under: Thank You — Meg @ 7:22 pm

I was excited by how nicely this Thank You card came out.  I used my new Hero Arts cling stamp with one of my new Hero Arts shadow inks.  Too lovely.  I’m in love with this color combo almost as much as blue and gray.

Thanks

Cling Thanks

My plan is to give this one to my Realtor when my house deal is fully and finally complete.

33rd Anniversary October 24, 2009

Filed under: Anniversary, Copics, Special Day, Wedding — Meg @ 3:57 pm

Yesterday was my parent’s 33rd anniversary, and to celebrate I re-did their wedding album.  I haven’t taken any pictures of it yet, but the plan is to eventually get a few.  As I was working on their wedding pictures I decided to incorporate one into their card as well.

Happy Birthday, Dad! October 11, 2009

Filed under: Birthday, NOT Copics, Primsa Pencils, mojo mon — Meg @ 7:37 pm

With the help of this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch and my new favorite color combo, I came up with a nice, non-sissy card for dad’s birthday!

Blue and Gray October 11, 2009

Filed under: Birthday, NOT Copics, Primsa Pencils — Meg @ 5:59 pm

I have a new favorite color combination.  Blue and gray!  It’s even likely the color scheme of my new bedroom (I’m buying a house!  Fingers crossed the seller’s bank approves my offer!).  Eee!

I started this card out as Dad’s birthday card, but then it got a bit too feminine when I added the ruffled ribbon.  I won’t subject dad to a sissy card, so this is one to hang on to!

Blue and Gray Birthday

Blue and Grey

{Supplies: Bazzill cardstock, Stampendous Hey There Cupcake, CB Houndstooth, Nesties Label One, Celebrate It ribbon, pearls, Star Dust Stickles}

The ruffled ribbon is a technique I learned from Dawn, one example here.

The most notable thing about this card is that the image was NOT colored with Copics!  This is the first time since I got my Copics back in… was it February?… that I reunited with my trusty Prisma colored pencils!

Precious Cookie Favor Bags – Revisted October 11, 2009

Filed under: Favors, Halloween, Special Day — Meg @ 5:38 pm

Last week it was time again for my work to hold a United Way farmer’s market slash bake sale.  I once again prepared some Precious Cookie Favor Bags!  (Rewind here and here.)  I considered re-dressing my animals from last year for a variation on the cute theme.  But then I saw Kristina Werner’s  September: A Year of Cards project and decided to go for those instead!  For the sake of ease and time (I waited till two days before the sale to get started, heh) I didn’t change much about Kristina’s designs other than make them smaller.  I did add a shape of my own too.

Not the greatest pictures since I didn’t get to take any until the assembly process, but you get the idea!

{Supplies for all: Crafts Etc. and DCWV papers, HA Happy Halloween, BoBunny dis-Stress Me Out (hard to see white dots on ghost), CB Swiss Dots, K&Co. gems, Stickles, white embroidery floss}

No face painting this year since the sale wasn’t on Halloween.  Should I happen to get Zombie’d later on I’ll be sure to share!
